What is Hyperloop?
Get ready for the Sphinx of public transport! The idea of a car, the convenience of a train and the speed of a plane! It doesn’t get better than this!
The Hyperloop is a new, futuristic mode of transportation conceptualized by entrepreneur Elon Musk (CEO SpaceX & Tesla Motors). It is a high speed ground transportation system that relies on pressurized pods, travelling inside a low-pressure environment. It is both cheaper and greener. And it is no longer just conceptual. Construction of a full scale prototype is already in progress.
Based on the "Hyperloop (Alpha)" white-paper, SpaceX is now organizing the Hyperloop pod competition to design the best pods.
About Midwest Hyperloop
Midwest Hyperloop is a coalition group formed by Hyperloop UC, Purdue Hyperloop, and Illini Hyperloop in order to compete in the 2019 SpaceX Hyperloop Competition.
In one breezy autumn night in 2018, captain Richard from Illini, made a phone call to both captain Heath from UC and captain Sidd from Purdue, talking about the idea to team up, 3 ex-finalists relying on each other's strengths to become the most competitive team we can be. Thus was the birth of...

Hyperloop UC
The team consists of 30 passionate students from the University of Cincinnati. Founded in 2015, HUC has competed in all 4 competitions, had its ups and downs, and grew to be the competitive team it is right now.
Initially began as a senior design-level course offered at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Illini Hyperloop student organization was soon created to implement their innovative prototype pods in all four Hyperloop competitions.
Founded by the skilled and hard-working engineering students from Purdue University and has been innovating ever since, Purdue Hyperloop has participated in every competition and proved itself to be a formidable team.
